Pregnancy was not a surprise, but twin pregnancy was!
It was April 25 2020 and we were all set to go for my first visit to the doctor after getting a positive pregnancy test result at home. Covid-19 was at its peak during that time and we had to get a written request signed from the police station to step outside.
We reached the hospital and only one person was allowed inside and so my husband had to wait outside until I was done. The doctor did some basic tests checked my bp and weight and asked me to get the ultrasound scan done.
The first time I heard my baby’s heartbeat was one of the happiest moments of my life. I missed my husband the most at that time. I would have loved to see his reaction hearing the heartbeat ❤️
The doctor checked my report and confirmed that I was 7 weeks pregnant, everything was alright and I am carrying a single life.
May 23,2020 it was time for second routine scan. I had to go alone again inside the hospital waiting in queue for my scan. The radiologist put the ‘joystick’ on my tummy and exclaimed ‘oh is it twins?’ I promptly answered ‘No.Not twins’ to which she replied ‘im definitely seeing two heads’ . For a moment I went blank , then again happy , back to scared and worried , back to denial and disbelief I asked her again ‘Are you sure?’is it twins are you serious?’
She laughed ‘you don’t believe me? See this ‘ she said and showed me something like this

Apparently my first scan was too early to detect a twin pregnancy, she could only see 1 life at that time.
